I have always believed that the true barometer of success is not what we do for ourselves, but rather what we do for those who are less fortunate. In that spirit, many of our endeavors are built around giving back to the community. These are some of the charitable causes we have proudly supported in recent years. Robin Hood Relief Fund
On April 26 2013, as part of La Festa del Barolo, we will host a charity dinner at Eleven Madison Park for the victims of Hurricane Sandy. 100% of profits will be donated to Robin Hood’s Robin Hood Relief Fund, which supports a variety of programs to help those whose lives have been shattered by Hurricane Sandy. The Navy SEAL Foundation On October 19, 2012 Antonio and Robert Parker hosted a charity lunch that raised over $250,000 for the Navy SEAL Foundation. The Navy SEAL Foundation stands behind all U.S. Navy SEALs, Special Warfare Combatant-craft Crewmen, Naval Special Warfare support personnel, and their families with immediate and ongoing support and assistance. The Wine Advocate Endowed Scholarship Fund at the Culinary Institute of America For the last two years, Antonio has hosted a tasting and dinner to support the Wine Advocate’s Scholarship Fund at the CIA. The Fund provides partial tuition assistance to individuals pursuing or furthering their careers in the wine, food, and hospitality industries through professional wine education programs offered at the college’s Greystone campus in St. Helena, CA. The Mount Sinai Hospital Antonio and Marzia Galloni are deeply involved with The Mount Sinai Hospital. For the last two years the Gallonis have supported a number of programs for seriously ill children being treated in the Hospital’s Pediatric and NICU units. Osteogenesis Imperfecta Foundation Antonio has hosted a series of rare wine dinners with bottles from his own cellar to support the Osteogenesis Imperfect Foundation. The OI Foundation’s mission centers on research, education, awareness and mutual support for those who are affected by this debilitating brittle-bone disorder and their families. AFYA Foundation In March 2011, La Festa del Barolo raised $45,000 in support of AFYA’s mission to aid the victims of the Japan earthquake/tsunami earlier that year. |
