It is hard to miss Angelo Gaja’s vineyards in Barolo and Barbaresco, as they are some of the most meticulously tended plots in the region. Many of the vineyards are planted with vertical rather than horizontal rows (known as (ritocchino) and are distinguished by several other factors.
